Washington [US], October 26: Director John Crowley recently shared that actress Florence Pugh astonished him by shaving her head for her role in the upcoming film *We Live in Time*. Pugh made this bold decision without consulting anyone, which took the director by surprise.

"She didn't inform anybody [about shaving her head]. It was quite terrifying to me. I thought, 'Wow, that's really courageous,'" Crowley told *The Hollywood Reporter*.

Reflecting on their initial meeting, Crowley recalled that Pugh mentioned, "Oh, by the way, I want to shave my head." He had expected her to discuss how they would approach the head shaving instead.

Although her new look ultimately wasn't necessary when production on Marvel's *Thunderbolts* was halted in June 2023 due to the writers' strike, Crowley appreciated her commitment. He likened her dedication to that of actor Gerard Butler, who had previously supported a smaller indie project.

Pugh's choice to shave her head underscored her strong belief in authenticity. She declined to wear bald wigs, believing they wouldn’t look genuine. Crowley praised her bravery and creativity.

"The smaller, more independent film was the one where the actor was saying, 'This is the one I'm going to commit to and not compromise creatively,'" he remarked.

*We Live in Time* features Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield in their first collaboration. Written by Nick Payne, the film delves into themes of love, grief, and redemption. Both Pugh and Garfield have received acclaim for their performances, making this movie highly anticipated by audiences.
