New Delhi [India], September 2: Indian equestrian Nida Anjum Chelat, known for her groundbreaking achievements, is once again making history on the global stage by competing in the FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors. After her remarkable success in last year's FEI Junior Championship, Nida is set to bring further glory to India.

The 22-year-old from Tirur, Kerala, will represent India at the FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors in Monpazier, France, on September 7th, 2024. This prestigious event, organized by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), is a significant moment for Indian equestrian sports, placing her among the elite riders from countries with deep-rooted equestrian traditions and advanced facilities.

Nida will compete on her mare, Petra del Rey, against 144 riders from 40 countries, with her backup horse, Design du Claud, a stallion, by her side. She will tackle the challenging 160-kilometer course, facing strong competitors from nations such as the UAE, Bahrain, Italy, Spain, France, Uruguay, Argentina, Britain, and Hungary—countries that have historically dominated endurance championships. Despite the challenges of limited resources and facilities compared to her global counterparts, Nida’s participation in the FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors is a moment of immense pride for India.

"I am incredibly excited and honored to represent India at the Endurance World Championship for Seniors," Nida Anjum Chelat shared. "The experience and confidence I gained from last year's Junior Championship have driven me to take on this challenge. The overwhelming support from everyone around me inspires me to give my best for our country on the global stage."

The FEI championships are among the most prestigious in the equestrian world, and participating in them positions Nida among the top endurance riders globally. This competition requires not only physical endurance but also a deep connection between rider and horse, as they navigate a course designed to test their limits. The championship is renowned for challenging the endurance, skill, and synergy between rider and horse with its demanding loops.

Nida already made history as the first Indian to complete the FEI Equestrian World Endurance Championship for Juniors and Young Riders last year. She completed the 120 km course in just 7 hours and 29 minutes, competing with 70 riders from 25 countries alongside her horse, Epsilonn Salou.

As Nida prepares to make history once more at the FEI Endurance World Championship for Seniors, her journey stands as an inspiration to aspiring equestrians in India and marks a proud moment for the nation as she competes among the world's best. The race can be followed on the Yamamah App.
