New Delhi [India], October 26: On Saturday, the Congress party announced a second list featuring 23 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

According to this list, Congress has selected Rajesh Tukaram Manvatkar for Bhusawal-SC, Swati Sandip Wakekar for Jalgaon (Jamod), Mahesh Gangane for Akot, Shekhar Pramodbabu Shende for Wardha, Anuja Sunil Kedar for Savner, Girish Krushnarao Pandav for Nagpur South, Suresh Yadavrao Bhoyar for Kamthi, Puja Ganesh Thavkar for Bhandara-SC, and Dalip Waman Bansod for the Arjuni-Morgaon-SC constituency.

Additionally, Rajkumar Lotuji Puram will represent Amgaon-ST, Vasant Chinduji Purke Ralegaon, Balasaheb Shankarrao Mangulkar Yavatmal, Jitendra Shivajirao Moghe Ami-ST, Sahebrao Dattrao Kamble Umarkhed-SC, Kalias Kisanrao Gortantyal Jalna, and Madhukar Krishnarao Deshmukh Aurangabad East.

The party has also chosen Vijay Govind Patil for Vasai, Kalu Badheliya for Kandivali East, Yashwant Jayprakash Singh for Charkop, Ganesh Kumar Yadav for Sion Koliwada, Hemant Ogale for Shrirampur-SC, Abhaykumar Satishrao Salunkhe for Nilanga, and Ganpatrao Appasaheb Patil for Shirol.

Earlier, on Thursday, Congress released its first list with 48 candidates for the elections.

In a seat-sharing arrangement within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, 255 constituencies are divided among the parties, granting 85 seats to each, with the remaining 23 seats to be distributed based on the finalized candidate lists.

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole confirmed that alliance partners—Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar)—will each contest 85 seats, a plan also affirmed by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results for all 288 constituencies to be announced on November 23.

In the last assembly elections in 2019, BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44, while in 2014, BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
