New Delhi, India, October 26 – German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck, engaged with Indian ministers during his visit to India on Friday.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar shared on social media platform X that he had a productive discussion with Habeck, addressing various contemporary global challenges. "A good conversation with German Vice Chancellor and Economic Affairs and Climate Action Minister Robert Habeck. Exchanged views on contemporary global challenges, both strategic and economic," Jaishankar posted.
Habeck also traveled on the Delhi Metro with Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, to reach the YashoBhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, Delhi. Earlier in the day at the Asia-Pacific conference, Habeck emphasized India's significant role as a partner in navigating economic transitions. He stated, "India is one of the most important partners here in this region, but also in the world. We cannot afford to overlook a Free Trade Agreement with the EU."
During the conference, Prime Minister Modi praised the cooperation between India and Germany, expressing that "the approach and commitment to advancing this strategic partnership in a comprehensive manner is clearly visible. Germany's trust in India is remarkable."
