New Delhi [India], September 2: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of conducting a biased investigation against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan. The allegations came as ED officials raided Khan's residence in Okhla, Delhi, early Monday morning.
Sanjay Singh criticized the ED for acting with hostility despite repeated reprimands from the Supreme Court, emphasizing that the raid occurred while Khan's mother-in-law is undergoing cancer treatment. Singh alleged that the ED's actions are aimed at imprisoning people rather than seeking justice.
Singh also pointed out that despite a six-year investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which found no evidence of wrongdoing by Khan, the ED has yet to close its case. He noted that the CBI had registered the case in 2016 but concluded that Khan had not committed any economic crime.
In response to the raid, Khan took to social media, stating, "ED officials have arrived at my house to arrest me." He accused the agency of harassing him for the past two years, asserting that their goal is to undermine the AAP. Khan expressed hope for justice, claiming the case against him is entirely unfounded.
