Al Amerat [Oman], October 26: A stellar all-round display by Afghanistan A propelled them into the final of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup, where they triumphed over India A by 20 runs at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) on Friday.

Afghanistan A is set to face Sri Lanka A in the final of the tournament on Sunday at the same venue.

Chasing a challenging target of 207 runs, the team led by Tilak Varma managed to score only 186 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Ramandeeop Singh was the standout performer for India A, scoring 64 runs off just 34 balls, which included eight boundaries and two sixes. Ayush Badoni contributed 31 runs from 24 balls, while Nishant Sindhu and Nehal Wadhera chipped in with 23 and 20 runs, respectively, but their efforts fell short.

For Afghanistan, Allah Ghazanfar and Abdul Rahman each claimed two wickets, conceding 14 and 32 runs, respectively. Sharafuddin Ashraf took one wicket for 13 runs in his two overs.

Earlier, Afghanistan A captain Darwish Rasooli won the toss and chose to bat first. The team scored 206 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs, with Sediquallah Atal leading the charge with 83 runs off 52 balls, supported by Zubaid Akbari’s 64 runs off 41 balls.

Rasikh Salam was the standout bowler for India, taking three wickets for 25 runs in his four overs, while Aaqib Khan took one wicket for 48 runs in his four overs.
